Mag Garden announced on Thursday that Mikihisa Konishi’s manga Reincarnation no Kaben (Petals of Reincarnation) will be adapted into a television anime. Along with this announcement, Mag Garden released a visual for the anime and a promotional video celebrating the 10th anniversary of the manga. However, no additional details about the anime, such as release date or staff, were provided.
The manga follows Tōya Senji, a high school student who, despite his strong academic performance, feels ordinary when compared to his exceptionally successful older brother. Eager to stand out and achieve greatness, Tōya meets an old classmate named Haito La Buffet. She reveals that she possesses extraordinary talent due to using a “branch of reincarnation” to inherit skills from her previous life as the renowned swordsman Miyamoto Musashi. These individuals, known as “Returners,” possess talents from their past lives and often have grand ambitions. Tōya learns that other Returners also have significant plans for their abilities.
Konishi began serializing the manga in Mag Garden’s Comic Blade magazine in May 2014, but it moved to the magazine’s online platform in September 2014 following the magazine’s discontinuation. Mag Garden released the manga’s 19th compiled volume on January 10.
