During the Aniplex x Kadokawa Anime Matsuri livestream event on Friday, it was announced that the light novel series Silent Witch (Silent Witch: Chinmoku no Majo no Kakushigoto), created by author Matsuri Isora and artist Nanna Fujimi, is being adapted into an anime. The event also showcased a new visual for the adaptation.
The Silent Witch light novels first appeared on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō (Let’s Become Novelists) website in February 2020. Kadokawa began publishing the series in print in June 2021, with the seventh volume released on February 9.
A manga adaptation by Tobi Tana was serialized in Kadokawa’s B’s-LOG COMIC starting in July 2021. The fourth collected volume of the manga was released in Japan on May 31.
Yen Press has licensed the light novels, which are published in English under the title Secrets of the Silent Witch. The publisher summarizes the story as follows:
“Monica Everett, the Silent Witch, is the world’s only practitioner of Voiceless Magic, having heroically defeated the Black Dragon of legend. However, Monica is extremely shy and learned Voiceless Magic to avoid speaking in public. Unaware of this, the Seven Sages have assigned her a top-secret mission to protect the Second Prince. Can Monica manage her social anxiety while defending the young royal from various threats?”
Yen Press has also licensed the manga adaptation of Secrets of the Silent Witch.
